一、加强语篇训练，进行限时阅读
在高三总复习中，放弃语法复习为重点的复习模式，将语篇训练作为贯穿高三英语复习的主线，是十分重要的，也是新教材、新大纲和新考纲所要求的。语篇训练不仅包括阅读理解，还包括完型填空，短文改错和书面表达。在这四项专题训练中，阅读理解是重中之重，同学在做阅读理解练习时，一定要限定时间，根据高考试卷对阅读理解一题限时的要求，时间应限制在40分钟内读完5篇短文并完成20道小题的选择。
阅读理解的过程从根本上讲就是一种对话过程：读者与作者的对话，读者与自己的对话。考生在阅读的同时，应当不断问自己：作者想说什么？为什么这么说？最后得出什么结论？
下面向同学们介绍经过实践检验，行之有效的快速阅读方法：
1.浏览全文做标记
通过浏览全文，了解全篇的主旨大意和结构框架。浏览时不能盲目求快，而应该以弄清文章的主题为宗旨。浏览全文的关键在于找出文章主旨句及段落主题句。篇章主旨句多出现在首段或尾段，段落主题句多出现在段首或段尾。因此一篇文章的首段、尾段及各段的段首、段尾都应仔细阅读。在浏览的同时，将重要细节、事实标出。
2.查读细节,选择作答
浏览全文后，再读问题，带着问题重新扫描全文，这样可以大大降低搜索的盲目性，提高速度与准确性。
3.合理运用排除法
有人认为用排除法做阅读理解题实为无奈之举，并不可靠。其实不然，在把握文章的主要内容和细节基础上，充分地运用排除法，将明显起干扰作用的选项清除出视野范围，会缩小思考范围，大大提高准确性和效率，起到事半功倍的作用。
4.要有时间观念，把握合理的阅读节奏
考生要在规定时间内保质保量地完成阅读材料，除了有正确的阅读方法外，把握正确的阅读节奏至关重要。这好比长跑运动员，控制节奏是取胜的首要因素，如果开始一味求快，自乱阵脚，最终会名落孙山。在快速阅读中，考生如果按照一定的节奏处理每一篇短文，不图快，不拖拉，便会做到心平气和、从容不迫、处乱不惊，正所谓“过程”有了，“结果”自然就有了。
